Where’s the rest of the games promised?

Another E3 is said and done, another gamer event has come and gone with grand promises of grand gaming. What I thought was odd was that at least a few games which were shown last E3 ’05 were no where to be seen this time around. Case in point, for the PS3: Killzone, Motorstorm and Devil May Cry 4. I think there were even a few more I remember seeing last year but were a no-show this time. Are these games still at a stage in development where they can’t even show a screenshot? Or have they been axed completely. There are some new in-game clips of Motorstorm on Gamespot, but the game wasn’t promoted much at E3, as far as I know. The release of Motorstorm when the PS3 arrives in November reminds me of when the PS2 first came along with ATV Offroad Fury. I think Motorstorm will be a “hey look at what the PS3 can do” kind’ve game, like ATV was. It is confusing though because the clips of Motorstorm which are on Gamespot say that it’s from the Wii. But it’s in the PS3 section. I sure hope these aren’t the PS3 games, what a disapointment if it is and what a big difference from those pretty pre-rendered cut scenes from the trailer.

Guerrilla’s Killzone is in the works, the proof is on their website, but they still need more staff on the game. Perhaps to live up the expectations of that non-real-time demo that was shown last year. I was pretty disapointed that they showed a pre-rendered clip, but after seeing some real-time game demos from this year, I know they can pull of a near-close copy of the Killzone we saw from ’05.

All in all I think the power of the 360 and the PS3 are finally start to show their true colours with the 2nd generation of games shown last week. Third generation, such as when Grand Theft Auto 4 come out, will-be-phenomenal. Now I just need to take out a loan to actually obtain these systems.

Motorstorm was playable at E3, at least on Friday. You had to stand in line to get up to the “top tier” of PS3 stuff, but… it wasn’t that impressive.

Really? So you played it…and it wasn’t that great eh. I’m not surprised though. I guess it looked better from the back of the line ;-)

Killzone seems as a very strong entry. I saw trailer of it at TV. I want it for PC, but PCs can’t handle PS3 or XBOX360 titles.

Actually they will soon, with the new DirectX 10 cards coming out they’ll be better then the next-gen cards.
