The Nintendo Amusement Park?

mariopark.jpgThis reminds me of the days when you’d see (at least where I lived) these big warehouses full of gimicky video games like a VR Handgliding game and a chopper you could sit in simulator style. This was around the time when VR was “big”. The Nintendo Amusement Park isn’t VR but it’s gimicky in my opinion and raises the question…hoax?

Suit up as Mario, strap yourself to bungie cords and off you go! (Videos included) The clips show a guy in a Mario suit jumping around flailing his arms around trying to hit the “?” boxes and jumping on stuffed animal turtles. The idea is to be carried along a track in a life-size version of a Mario world where you would perform all acts as you would in the game. They want to have this “game” – off the ground, so to speak for E3 2007. Let’s see…3rd Gen X360 games or a bungee jumping Mario game? I think this one is geared towards the kids, or kids at heart.
