I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.

ConceptArt is a site I never knew existed but now I do, thanks to Kotaku. “Hawkprey” who works at Epic has been given permission to post a bunch of concepts on the forum section of the site. There you’ll find some artwork for Gears of War and Unreal Tournament. Poke around the entire site though, you’ll find all kinds of goodies.

When I worked on Stargate I obviously wasn’t allowed to post any work on forums because the episodes weren’t out at the time. Well season 2 of Atlantis is far over. I wonder if I can post some of my graphics on ConceptArt…hmm. What is cool is that some of my graphics from the show will be in the new Stargate MMO game coming out – who knows when. It will be neat to see my work in a game even though I didn’t work on the game directly. Again, I knew about this game long before it hit the press but Mum was the word!

Whoa, you worked on Stargate? Are we talking Stargate the game (which is now defunct) or as a concept artist on the series??

That’s pretty cool. That would pretty much be my dream job. Too bad I have no art skills. :(

I worked on the TV show last season of Atlantis (season 2). I was the Playback artist or motion graphic artist who did all the graphics you would see on the gadgets, computer screens, flight deck screens etc…It was fun but looong hours.

The Stargate game (not the MMO) is not defunct, last I heard…

Did you get to meet with any of the cast or writers? Man, that must be some good experience. Out of curiosity, what software did you do most of the work in?

Of course, on a day to day basis I’d work with the whole crew pretty much. Not so much working with the actors directly though.

I used After Effects, Photoshop, Director, Flash an Illustrator.
