    Contemporary Game Emblems

    By Shane | May 31, 2006

The artist Mauro Ceolin has gone and created a combined series of popular gaming icons in a black and white emblem-like fashion which have quite a shock value if you think about it. These emblems convey authoritative and powerful messages in the most simplest form, while they are pervasive and intrusive in their nature. In other words, they rule us in their power and now they come in emblem form to shove it in our faces, baby.

I somewhat agree to this. Video game icons or “heros” have a huge impact on our youth ever since the Atari was born; They shape our minds and almost control us if you will, just so that we can literally “control” them – electronically speaking. It’s kind’ve ironic in a sense. Just look at oh…Mario, Sonic, Pacman and Halo, to name just a few. These characters are bigger than the biggest movie celebrity in my opinion. They have power.
