Tiny Diggers – An iPad Construction Truck Game for Kids Age 2-5

Is it an acronym for: What an Idiotic Idea? Wii!? I can see all the kids out there with spare time and a computer conjuring up cartoony Flash spoofs of Nintendo’s new “brand name”. I’m not sure the R&D staff at Nintendo head quarters did enough research on this issue. Why? Well how do you carefully word a sentence to your friend to invite them over for a bit of gaming on the new system.

Bob: “Hey Frank, do you want to come over and play with my Wii? Do you want to play with my Wii Wii?”
Frank: “Excuse me?”
Bob: “No no, I have two systems”

That will score you some NoFriendo’s in no time.

Would people be ok with this new name if that was the initial name when the system was on the drawing board? It seems a lot of people really liked “Revolution” better. I agree.

In light of the new name Nintendo has given to their next-gen system. I have come up with a top ten list of names they probably already came up with, but went with “Wii”. And I offer this consultation free of charge!

#10: Nintendo Yuu.
Because most of the time, you play alone.

#9: Nintendo Mee
It rhymes with “Wii” and sounds self centered.

#8: Nintendo Puu
You get the idea

#7: Nintendo Wii: need a new name
Speaks for itself

#6: Nintendo Joystick
Why not? The name is a symbol for their revolutionary joystick and is Nintendo’s tool to bring in sales.

#5: Nintendo Nuu
Hey it’s a new Nintendo, it’s new!

#4: Nintendo XP
It has just as much significance as “Wii” does.

#3: Nintendo Loo
What you’ll need after playing the Wii.

#2: NintendoPod
Just the name alone will sell millions, and the system will keep getting smaller every year. And you can play Doom on it!

#1: Nintendo SEN
Taking the old school name “NES” and reversing it. Yeah baby!
