The Game Blame

wow3453443.jpgThere have been a few tragic deaths recently related to MMO games. More recently there was the young girl who died while playing WoW too long. The newest MMO death is in the spotlight because the parents are suing Blizzard for the loss of their son. They claim he reinacted a WoW scene and jumped to his death. I’m sorry but I think these people are just looking for money. I was a boy once, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve was in the land of makebelieve throughout my childhood. Kids will play! Kids are imaginative and like to explore, make stuff up and once in a while, a tragic accident WILL happen. I feel the parents wouldn’t win even if they were present and had witnesses during the incident. Even if the boy shouted: “look Mommy, I’m a character in WoW”, and then jumped. It was a very unfortunate thing to happen and I’m sorry to hear it, but you can’t blame video games for this, you really can’t. It’s all too familiar though, and I’m tired of hearing the blame on games.

Coincidentally, the official WoW site now has a parental control system for the game.
