Stuck in Indigo Prophecy

I’ve been stuck in the PC game Indigo Prophecy, at this part (in the screenshot) for days! I even have it set to “easy”. Yeah I know, lame. Nice corduroy Bill Cosby sweater I’m wearing eh? Is there a secret to success here? I always get the timing of the arrows right. Even up until the very last sequence, but the damn bug eats me every time. So I will sit here and bitch blog about it.

Man, this part was a BITCH. I played the console version though, so my advice is limited. At the very end of this part, he goes to open a door but the buttons go out in a flurry that no human could possibly coordinate with their thumbs, a white light passes and the next chapter begins. Perhaps something you did earlier in the game affected it.

    There is one solution.

Remove your copy of Indigo Prophecy from the CD tray. Set it down next to a deck of cards and enough space to lay out a game of solitare.

    Decide.

Ha, thanks for the advice Grandma. I’ll take up solitare.

The bad news is that that sequence isn’t even the hardest in the game, worse is indeed to come.

Only tip I can give you is to try to memorize the tougher parts, like “Immediately after he turns left at the door, press UP on both pads at once” etc.

Best way to get the hang of it is to play it over and over until you’re good :)

    Very good game though, gl.

Yeah I did just start the game. I rarely have the time these days with work so the chances I get to play are few and far between. You mentioned both pads? I’m assuming I have to push two keys at the same time on the keyboard. Like the up arrow and Num pad 8 or something.

Yes it is a great game.

  • Rauz

Exactly. Well, assuming the game tells you to to push both keys at once…that’s when you see two circles next to each other who each have one area lit. Otherwise just press the single corresponding button, left side is pad 1, right side is pad 2.

Key setup can be changed under options in the menu, I use the arrows and the numpad, some tend to prefer “WASD” and the arrows.

Check out the gamefaqs.com boards next time you get stuck, a lot of people seem to have problems throughout the game :)

Ahh I see, thanks Rauz. This game is certainly not like the majority of games we’re conditioned to. Not to say that is a bad thing, it’s nice to have a change in the way we interact with a game. I’m really liking it too.

I had no problem with this scene on easy, and it felt like I was making some mistakes. I found it fairly forgiving. Some keyboards have trouble registering two simultaneous keypresses. Try different key configs. At any rate, I think you might run into trouble later when you have to climb the fence at the airbase, which seems to require very precise stick movements. Go get yourself a Logitech Dual-Analog rumblepad. They rock.

@Shane: Not it’s quite different from all the WWII shooters and mmorpg’s of today. The action sequences remind me a bit of Dragon’s Lair.

@Mr. Falcon: You use a stick/pad? I played it with the mouse all through the game and it was dead easy. I was wondering why everyone had problems with the fences. Try re-calibrating your pad or use a mouse, I’d say.

Hi… donno if you’re still stucked here. I guess not. Just in case, I found the best way to avoid creatures eating you is by simply failing the Simon game, i.e. not pressing the right buttons when prompted. This way, the character ignores the bugs… so he does not loose any mental strenght either. However, that worked for me in a scene that’s a bit more advanced in the game than that one.

    Give it a go.

Yep I’m still at that point – haha. But I haven’t tried it again as I’ve just been too busy with work. I’ll have some free time soon to give it another go. Thanks for the tip!

HELP!!!!!! I’ve come so far in the game and the damn game has a glitch in the action part wheres hes beating up the cops. Right when i get to the helicopter and have to do the the left right action it lock for just a brief second and I die. Is there any cheat out there that can give you extra lifes. I even tried the j8014fd code but couldn’t get it to work. I wanna finish this game but cause theres a glitch i can’t unless i have a extra life

  • http://www.aeropause.com Shane

I gave up on the game way before where you are. Do you have the latest patch? Maybe there’s a cheat for skipping that level.
