AIBO meets Nintendogs

Imagine the ability to control your Nintendog via a physical AIBO dog. That’s somewhat the idea here with the NEtTOBOt Project – an exhibition in Tokyo called “META VISUAL:10e Anniversaire du Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography”. Using an AIBO as the tangible interface, one can control a 3D web version of the dog by simply moving it around via an AIBO2PC.
I checked out the real-time 3D demo in action. If you don’t have an AIBO you’re just a spectator obviously. It was humorous to see a bunch of AIBO’s floating around in the sky all interacting with one another – kind of strange in a way. Regardless, the project is a fascinating and unique look at marrying tangible and virtual communications. You could say this has gone to the dogs.
