Could “Space Invader” be responsible for the crop circle space invasion? That’s going really big if he or she did it. An anonymous French street artist named “Space Invader” posts icons of the famous video game character all over the world, in any place imaginable.

Each city the person targets comes with a map which you can buy to witness the invasion. Space Invader has been seen in umpteen magazines like Wired, IDN and Giant Robot as well.

I think this cunning, public space, art installation could possess many meanings if one were to critique. I like to ponder the idea with the notion – what constitues public and private space on the internet, online gaming and the outside world? Bringing a video game icon into public space, yet utilizing the character in non-desirable places asks the question – what exactly is public or private anymore?
