The iBoy GB Emulator: Mario on the iPod!
Limited screen colour gadget meets another limited screen colour gadget. This time, the hack allow you to play gameboy games on your iPod. The controls to mirror the Gameboy’s on the iPod are cleverly executed via the scroll wheel. Hit left on the scroll wheel and you go left, touching the upper right corner of the wheel is the “A” button, Et cetera. I could imagine that’d be difficult. Download the Binary source on GB Emulator now. Er’ only if you have a an a 4th Generation iPod. They’re currently working on getting the other generations to function. The limitations (for now) are as follows:
# Only works on 4g ipods – the actual 4g – ie the grayscale one
# 1,2,3G not supported, aegray’s analyzing it.
# Mini, Photo not yet supported (working on it)
# GB Cardrigde Ram, RTC not yet supported
# Full speed not yet reached (now 70-80%)
# Controls work by touching the wheel at different positions. This makes pressing two buttons (areas of the wheel) at the same time a problem.
# The screen is cropped, meaning pixels are lost around the edges.
# The battery will drain fast
