Tale of Tales: Endless Forest

Tale of Tale’s ‘Endless Forest’ is an interactive exploration project and it is simply wonderful. You’re a stag (male) deer and you do what deer’s do; wonder around the forest aimlessly, let out a haunting moan, scratch up against a tree, explore or have a stag party!. Ok I kid but where are the doe’s? Other players can join in with their deer too. I was the only one at the time so it would’ve been nice to see more deer folk but maybe next time. Playing around with Endless Forest left me feeling relaxed and not hurried; unlike most mainstream games where they’re so fast paced. You can play the game with a no-name deer or name your creature what you wish. There’s also a symbol one can choose which hovers over your head to go along with him/her. Tale of Tales has a page devoted to future plans for the game here, a forum page here and credits for this great start of a game goes here.

The project is downloadable as a screensaver executable here.

My deer is called ‘Aeropause’ of course. Look for me eating grass and lady bugs by the ruins.

via Alice who was stuck in an Airport and unfortunately couldn’t play ‘Endless Forest’ at the time :-(

I’m assuming there’s no deer on deer action going on here … because I don’t think there is an ESRB rating for that.

Haha. Now now, let’s not taint the wholesome innocent games with suggestions of animal hanky panky. ;-)
