Nintendo Controls Sony

Rogers Ibars is a London based Designer whose work includes modding, hacking and connecting classic game controllers with old electronics like a Sony clock radio. Ibars challenges the relationship between branding and consumption.
” One object in the collection that demonstrates this is self-control. This consists of a light sensor hard-wired to the fast-forward button of a video remote control. The light sensor is attached to the screen of the TV, and every time the light exceeds a certain level the remote fast-forward the video. This construction forces us to see the parts of the film that the film itself wants us to see.”
Here’s another idea I thought of. Let’s get ATC’s (Air Traffic Controllers) who taxi in commercial airline planes to use the Nintendo Revolution controller. There would be sensors on the jet which talk to the controller and all they’d have to do is wave the wand in! Brilliant! Heh, eh…yeah no.
