thehouse.jpgCreepy, CREEPY Flash games! The first one being an interactive point and click horror called The House. Perhaps inspired by games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. I’m not sure who made it, but I like it. I made it to the attic.

boogeyman.jpgThe second freaky game called “Escape the Boogeyman” is freakin’ whacko! It actually kinda weird’d me out. The object of Boogeyman, as far as I know, is to…escape! Open the doors that aren’t rattling because those ones have the Boogeyman behind them. I didn’t get to far.

I guess the “advanced technology” in Bogeyman is Windows only, wont work on the mini :(

Are you kidding? It’s Shockwave, I guess you don’t have it installed?

It loads, but then just shows nothing once the game starts to run. I get all the past the choosing the screen res and can even hear noises, but there’s nothing else.

See, the other thing about Flash/Shockwave is that it’s balkanized over the years with it’s various upgrades. We’ve had problems at work over very, very fine distinctions between flash players … like finer than what javascript will even report. So the player may run 90% of the stuff fine, but once it hits that one command which has changed/been removed/etc., it just croaks.

The more reliant on “cutting edge” ActionScript or the like an anim has, the more likely they’re talking to more modern Windows boxes – because they are the most likely to have the latest greatest.
