Peter Molyneux on the Revolution controller

Peter Molyneux made a comment on the new Nintendo controller at the Leipzig European Games Convention:

“There is a line at the end of the book ‘Game Over’ and it is: ‘Never underestimate Nintendo’. That is all I can say about the controller.”

gameover.jpgHmm. Quite “revolutionary” perhaps? I’m thinking, and this is just a guess, that the controller’s directional pad is touch sensitive. You know, like on an iPod. Don’t ask me how that would work, but I’m thinking it’s something along those lines. That was a good book by the way. I remember buying it many, many years ago. It came out in 1993 so it’s quite old in game years. The book has been reprinted with new graphics. I have the first one (left) and I highly recommend it. Hey, I should talk about that book. In due time.
