Old Western games
“Shane! Come back! Shane!”
Heh, I was aptly named “Shane” after the Western movie “Shane”. I guess my Mother really liked the movie or the character “Shane”.
Speaking of ol’ Westerns, there’s a couple of new Western games headed our way to the XBOX 360 and PC. The first one is called “Gun” from Neversoft (I love that name.) It is an action-based FPS and actually looks to be shaping up quite well judging from the trailers and previews on IGN. It’s a 3rd person shooter, which I adore and strangely enough reminds me of Mafia in a way.
The 2nd Western gun slingin’ shooter is called “Call of Juarez” from Techland. It is slated for the PC and looks challenging. It’s as if you can’t freely look around with the mouse, rather you’re prone to side/forward motion with your head always pointed straight. I’m not sure about that. What I do like, speaking of difficulty, is the shooting method’s of an old Colt45. The developers seem to have mirrored just how hard it would be to shoot one in real-life. Not that I’ve ever shot one but it looks believable. It isn’t just another point-in-the-direction-shoot-and-kill style shooter by the looks of it. Which is nice.
