New game mice brought to you by the letter “G”

I thought I had the best mouse in gaming for a while – the MX518. That is until Logitech goes and whips out yet another two: G5 and G7 G-Series gaming mice. Plus a new gaming keyboard. What I want to know is why people in marketing STILL use the letter “G” for their products. You’ll see this letter everywhere. Computers, gadgets, cars even mens razor blades. What gives? Does it have to do with the term “G-Force”? As in GO FAST, HIGH TECH! I feel the letter has been overused. It likens to the overused swoosh symbol in company logos during the dot-com phase. Just about every logo used one. Let’s start with a new letter. How about the letter “Q”? It doesn’t get much publicity. Poor Q. Anyway, a few products that I can think of off the top of my head that use the ever so popular “G”:

G5,G7 (Logitech mice)
Gforce (video cards)
G3,G4,G5 (Mac)
G-Shock (Casio watch)
Gmail (google – does that really count?)
G-String (ok unrelated)
Intec G-Force Turbo Controller (Gamecube)

I just know there are a lot more out there. Feel free to add to the list.
