Guild Wars: Never Just A Second Class!

This article is ironically my second article about Guild Wars and is all about some good suggestions for your character’s secondary class. All characters in Guild Wars have to have a secondary class to compliment their primary. For example, this means that if you make a Warrior, you could choose to become a Warrior/Monk and become similar to a Paladin (fighter/healer).
Check it out and for all you GuildWarsians, tell me what you have had the best luck with and/or found the most useful.
This is just my opinion from my experiences with the game and should be used as a guide only (or to create some controversy).
Warrior: I have found the best warrior secondary to be Monk. The reasoning behind this is self healing and a skill called Mending. Mending regenerates your health which can be handy when you are forced to run out of healing range of the monks to get that annoying caster hanging out in the back.
Elementalist: I would have to say the best would be the Mesmer. A small amount of attribute points into your Mesmer attributes (mainly Inspiration Magic) can give you the necessary energy stealing to allow you to cast and keep casting those expensive Elementalist big hitters.
Mesmer: A solid Mesmer/Elementalist combo is great. Put in a couple attribute points into Fire and Arcane Echo or Echo two quick Meteor Storms or Fire Storms and you’re in damage heaven. As another possiblity I have seen used to great effect is Mesmer/Necromancer. This type of character is referred to as a “DOT” build. “DOT” stands for “Damage Over Time”, and relates to the health and energy degeneration skills that the Mesmer and Necromancer have access to. Laugh as you see the enemy’s health bar rocket down!
Necromancer: A tough call, but in the game climate currently, if you are not a Blood Necro then you aren’t going to get into a party very easily. My own Necro is a Blood/Curses Necro/Monk, which allows me to cast some good area based healing spells, as well as use Blood Ritual to keep the other casters energy up, and still have some impact on the damage side. The Monk side allows the Necro to take the burden of ressurecting fallen members of the party (after defiling their corpse with a Well of Blood or Well of Power of course muhhaha
away from the Monk primaries, which I have found to gain a lot of thanks from the party.
Ranger: For the Ranger, I would have to say the best combo I have seen is Ranger/Monk as it makes you more self-sufficient on the battlefield for very little investment into the Monk side. Healing Prayers and Protection can go a long way when you are the character that is continually asked to pull the monsters towards the party.
Monk: Last but not least, the Monk. I know I will probably take some flack for this, but I really don’t think it matters what you put in as your secondary. I have yet to see a Monk character do anything other than use Monk based skills on the battlefield. I have a Monk and as your character is the medic in the game, you are constantly watching health bars or making sure that your protections are still on (and watching health bars), you have little time for anything else realistically (all those damned other characters always trying to die, so inconvinient).
That’s all for now, if you are playing Guild Wars, I hope you are still enjoying it. If not, get on the boat, it’s a hell of a ride!
