I have to say, the PSP is pretty nice. It was the first time I had the opportunity to play with one the other day. We were trying to figure out a way to get some looping, controllable animated graphics on it. I create motion graphics for the Sci-Fi show Stargate-Atlantis and we sometimes use gadgets as a vehicle to present or tell a particular part of the story.

I was most impressed with the clarity of the screen. The graphics of the game demos seemed to rival that of the Playstation 2. Am I right in saying that? This thing of beauty plays MP3, MPEG, surfs the internet (with a hack?), games, movies, USB connection, IR port, memory stick and their native UMD disc support. Wow. I know it’s been out for a while now here in North America but I don’t think it is out yet in the UK? Of course there’s also an iPod-esque white version with new features and firmware as well.

I know what I want for my Birthday, it’s coming up soon. Ahem.
